My name is Butch Moore and I’m a singer / songwriter from Glen Carbon, IL. I play a variety of acoustic, folk and blues music. I’ve been married to Cindy Moore for 31 years and we have two children Austin and Kalyn Moore. Three cats and one little dog round out our household. My son Austin and his beautiful wife Eunice introduced their first child, Luke Alexander, in 2020. I’m a happy grandpa!
As a young child I always enjoyed watching others play the guitar. I also enjoyed singing with my mom as early as the first grade. ‘Sugar in the Morning’ and ‘Honeycomb’ were our favorite songs to sing. My early musical influences were the singing cowboys Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and Hank Williams. In 1963 with the emergence of The Beatles is when I discovered my true passion for music. I’m a self-taught guitar player and have been playing since the summer of 1965 when I was 13 years old. My parents bought me my first guitar at the Grandpa’s Pigeon store in Fairmont City for $29.95 which I still have to this day.
I have hosted the Sunday night open mic at the acoustically perfect Stagger Inn in Edwardsville, IL for 35 years. I finally accomplished being the oldest guy in the bar on Sunday night. I also perform yearly at The Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park in St. Louis, MO. Other venues I play in the St. Louis Metropolitan area include the Broadway Oyster Bar and Grant’s Farm. On the Illinois side of the Mississippi I play regularly at The Winery at Shale Lake, Recess Brewing, Big Daddy’s, Copper Dock Winery and many other bars, wineries, and farmers markets.
Hope you enjoy!
